Baskètbòl pou Ankadre Lajenès (BAL) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to use basketball as a tool to mentor and educate Haitian youth.
Launched in July 2013, BAL primarily serves youth from some of Port-au-Prince’s communities most impacted by gang activity.
The organization works with youth of both genders, providing them with free programs and services year-round.

BAL’s beneficiaries are provided with a variety of programs and services, including: basketball training and games, critical thinking and writing exercises, a tutoring program, a scholarship fund, a reading program, an entrepreneurship program, cultural and educational field trips, an arts program, and health services. These programs and services are designed to help the youth develop their talents and abilities to the maximum.

BAL’s vision is that of a Haitian youth that is educated, disciplined, engaged, and actively shaping a brighter future for their country by becoming agents of change in their communities as successful professionals in a variety of fields.
